Apparently they've already shot the solution as well as the apparent fall, so they won't have the problem they did at the beginning of "A Scandal in Belgravia" - reprising the previous season's cliffhanger and coming up with a fast fix (when "The Great Game" was shot they didn't have a renewal).

You are correct - in the original BBC version Mycroft is shown sitting in the Diogenes Club reading a tabloid with a big headline about the suicide of a fake detective. And I agree: Mycroft must be in the know (and I think he and his brother have been colluding to play a long game throughout the episode).
