Tahmoh Penikett!  I was very fond of Agent Ballard and was totally delighted when his face was revealed last night.  Now if he could have his own evil spin-off with Adam Baldwin's cop character (gone rogue or something), that I'd take pleasure in watching.

Which was not shown on PBS (the not knowing about sex part).  Along with a lot of other wonderful bits.

They took out John's breakup with his girlfriend!  That moment when she tells him that "Sherlock is a very lucky man."  Argh.

He's got the bedroom voice.

Yep.  And also "The Necromancer" (aka Sauron), who IIRC has nothing to say in the book.  This all presumably came about because Martin Freeman (Dr. Watson in "Sherlock") is playing Bilbo Baggins, but he HAS got the right low-pitched velvety insinuating voice for both roles.

Haven't watched the film yet (was stuck in Ohio over the weekend), but am so looking forward to seeing it, and seeing Cumberbatch in it, having heard a lot of comments like yours about his performance.  Was caught unaware last year by "Sherlock" and just totally enjoyed it (well, all of the first and third episodes,
