Maybe Big Tobacco money.  They could be funding her experiments to get monkeys addicted to nicotine, while proving they are a lot cooler than the other monkeys

Exactly, and in shows that are supposed to be funny - everything goes out the window.  I love the scene in "Intolerable Cruelty":

At least it wasn't a flash mob.  It was also in a show where a woman dropped her boyfriend for being a billionaire.

Most of the shows you mentioned as not being stupid insulted a great many of their characters.  I doubt letter carriers cared for Cliff Claven or Newman.  I doubt people in radio or education care for the characters in NewsRadio or Community.  Many of the characters in those shows were insulting stereotypes.  My

Enought with the gefilte fish hating.  If you don't like it don't eat it.  The only bad part of it is that here in Georgia it's more than $10 a jar!  If you can find it.  In the ethnic food section.

What's most obvious from this review is that you should never comment on things you actually know something about.  What medical show would survive comments from real doctors or nurses.   (read the book "The Medicine of ER" to see why)  What legal show would survive reviews from real lawyers?  I've been a

In his book Danse Macabre Stephen King described an episode of the radio program "Lights Out!" where a big tough ex-football player seeks out a "painless dentist" since he's terrified of them.  The dentist straps him in (uh …  oh) since this is the key to the painless part.  Only then does the dentist reveal that they

Although played for laughs, Dom DeLuise did a filmed bit (I think on the Dean Martin show) of a dentist that was pretty terrifying.  The camera was set up so you are seeing the patient's POV and the first thing you see is the dentist hanging up his diploma.  He turns and looks down at you: "Oh, I didn't see you

I gotta say, ALL matzoh balls are an insult to my people.  I've never understood the concept of a small bowl of soup with a softball sized ball of dough in the center.

When Max said "I wish people could shed their skins", I heard "It puts the lotion on its skin."

When he called the police I was thinking they'd take him away as the family says "Aw, that's a shame." while secretly thinking "Don't let the doorknob hit you on the way out."  If he wants to go back to his mother - let him go.  If he regrets it later, he can ask to come back.

She did that and came to realize that their hatred of her was what was holding the family together.  Not a good resolution but her tirades against her family were classic.

A great moment though:

Actually, the space episode of Archer is where I'm starting to draw the line.  I get that they put up with Archer's sexual hi-jinks, his alcoholism, sexism and even the random violence against his co-workers.  But on this episode I really began to ask myself - why don't they kill him?  What does he bring to the

Howard's lack of a PhD.  Leonard's height, lactose intolerance.  Penny's failure as an actress.  These are some of the "shortcomings" that Sheldon knows are sore points with them and has thrown them in their faces.  He constantly brings up past events and relationships that cause them trouble.  In this episode he

Not enough power to hurt his friends?  He narced on them to the HR lady and could have gotten them all fired.

Everything negative people have said here about Simmons may be true, but I watched "Family Jewels" and it was actually painful to watch him being ground down by his wife, kids and his therapist.  He wound up having to apologize for daring to be a savvy businessman who enjoys making money, enjoying his fame and fortune

Way too long a comment, but I'll make my reply a shorter one.

The psychiatric community has removed Aspergers from the diagnostic manual.  That makes Sheldon (and Max on Parenthood) just an obnoxious asshole.

If this were an episode of a crime show we'd know who the asshole victim was going to be.  I like the idea of his former friends killing him in some horrible manner, his rising up as a super villain, only to be killed again. In fact I'd like to see Sheldon killed in every episode - like Kenny.
