Regarding "American Squirm", the single of it in the UK featured EC's "Peace, Love and Understanding" credited to Nick Lowe and His Sound on the B-side (and of course Nick did write the song and produced it). The song was not on the UK version of "Armed Forces" so it was the only release of it there (at that time).

"Stalin Malone" was certainly an oddity, and there was a 'vocal version', later released on the CD bonus disc, where EC just basically talks over the music. It's pretty interesting.

NBCUniversal bought E! several years ago. E! used to have their own studios. They've since moved most E! shows to Universal. Conan's old studio is now Chelsea Handler's new one.
