I, too, am surprised he made it this far but it's pretty clear he's got skills. The places he's helped open in LA are all pretty killer.

I liked Inside Man quite a bit, but I don't know if that's a popular opinion.

I can't think of a single dish I've ever eaten that would have been enhanced by the addition of popcorn.

THIS IS JUST TO SAY

Seriously. I admit these recaps have improved a bit from the initial disaster that was the first episode, but I'd enjoy them a lot more if they weren't consistently peppered with things like "I didn't know who this person was" or "I think so-and-so made this." You're allowed to rewind, you know.

I have high hopes for Janine to make a deep run in Last Chance Kitchen. She deserved better than to be kicked so early.

The quick fire this week is horrendous. Wrapping the kitchen in foil is not only wasteful, but also the laziest product integration ever. My heart goes out to the poor production assistants who spent all night doing that. But in general I really hate the challenges where the ingredients are just some random mishmash

I still hate last week's twist — was enjoying the season much more when Saul was shaping up to be a villain. But more importantly, is Morena Baccarin going to take her top off this season or what?

Oh geez totally forgot about that. Though I think that was fairly deep into the season, right? I figured the fight for space in the house would get people pissed off before they even had a chance to make friends.

It's rare (though this is maybe not the first time?) the chefs have to prep and cook in the house all together. I thought for sure that was an attempt by producers to stir the shit early, but it didn't seem to add much to the drama.

Just saw it. Fantastic. The bleak silence of space will be broken only by your sighs at the weak dialogue, but otherwise it's pretty stunning.

Glad to see Carrie got some high praise. Every season there's some totally adorable chef who goes home the minute everyone has a crush on her. Her deer in the headlights look made me nervous but she seems like one to watch.

Would anyone care for fruit or…dessert?

I was pretty sure it was Ramon. I don't know anything about cooking dashi but they made it sound like that was some kind of Cooking 101 mistake. The judges tend to be more sympathetic to chefs who recognize they have a problem and change their approach, as Patty did. It felt like Ramon screwed up, tried to cover it

Seriously. I like reading the recaps here because the reviewers are generally serious about food, but if you can't be bothered to get certain obvious details right, I won't bother.

Yeah, no way the Nazis keep the money. Maybe the Feds get Walt and the Nazis, and the money goes to build the "Walter White Memorial Children's Hospital" or something.

Yeah, I've never cared much for Todd, but his glee over getting to torture Jesse really chilled me tonight.

Yeah, this was my wife's read. I didn't get it at first but that clicked for me when she said it.

For one second, I almost thought Skyler was going to stab Walt…and kill him. Like actually kill him.

Yeah, this kid is killing me this season. As Donna notes, his "hero moment" tonight was a series highlight.
