i suspect that if you were to ask old codgers such as myself which were the absolute must-have GH albums of our wayward youth, i think it would be the eagles greatest hits (which i think is the highest selling GH album of all time and a fine album, to be sure) and steve miller band's GH.

the stuff root said about the ps3's cell-based CPU capabilities is of course entirely correct and in fact, the US Air Force did build a supercomputer using 1700+ ps3's back in the day. i thought it was a highly unorthodox and very clever solution to the problem at hand (even if it would have taken hours, if not days,

"even if I have questions about Major’s competence with firearms in light of only recently acquiring his own personal armory"

"you two need to get right with jesus!"

fuck.

i recently came across a book that purports to be the transcripts of lunch/dinner conversations with welles, recorded over a period of several years. it's been on my 'things to buy' list for a while now, but what excerpts i've read of it make think that the title 'magician' is well chosen.

having read the series this is based on, i'm kinda flustered by this. the lead villain was a steve jobs-like mega nerd, whose henchman ('gazelle') would be a good pick for sam jackson. the fact that they are just jumbling stuff around in casting makes me kinda feel like this is the next 'wanted' — might not be bad,

pretty sure the board game they were playing wasn't chess, but tafl (which is basically…viking chess.)

that movie is a gem. though TLJ really looked rather bored in it. especially when they asked him about his roommates (al gore) sense of humor and what pranks he pulled.

true story: i went to college with gustav. he worked at the campus radio booth and i worked on the campus paper. he had great taste back then. :)
