"Degrassi, Canada’s proudest contribution to the TV canon", oof. There are many Canadian shows I'm more proud of than Degrassi. For instance, X Company is probably the best show that the AV Club isn't reviewing right now.

Rollo's Frankish-as-a-second-language lesson pretty much made up for all of season 3's missteps for me.
I've heard of bears emerging from hibernation in the middle of winter, and they're apparently extremely dangerous because they're starving. But it is rare and unusual for that to happen.
I suppose they could do a second season doing Journey to the Polar Sea, in the same way that Fargo did a prequel story line for its second season. But I'm not sure if Fargo qualifies as an anthology…

I think the point of the article is to disenchant people from gender politics?

you guys have got to get on reviews of Letterkenny
she was really good in Good God
I'm pretty sure this "song" is actually ridiculing feminism.
Thanks for your kind words. A truly egalitarian society is a noble sentiment and I agree with you in that it is something to work towards. However, you'll forgive me for being cynical about such a society coming about. We live in a society where genital mutilation of male infants is commonplace, sexual predators like…
I just know from my own mom's experience where she knew from an early age that she wanted to be a girl but only transitioned later in life. If 50 years of being treated like a man couldn't make her want to be a man, I don't see how gender can be a purely social construct. If gender really is a social construct, why…
No Schitt's Creek reviews? This makes me sad…
Sorry, but gender is not purely a social construct. Biology does play a role in trans people's development. I'm not a scientist, but the evidence shows that trans people's and cis people's brains are "wired" differently. Hence, why deconversion programs for trans people are so dangerous.

So wearing a headdress isn't offensive because it's cultural appropriation, it's because the headdress is a restricted symbol in Plains First Nations culture. The best analogy is that it's like wearing a military decoration like the Purple Heart when you have never served in the military. Headdresses are only worn by…
I hear you, but if, as you say, "the patriarchy is not just about all males asserting dominance over all females - it's about a very narrow concept of gender ruling over all", shouldn't we have a non-gendered term? You can't fight etymology. I kinda like "traditionalism", but I also find the term too broad.
I'll probably get shouted down for this, but anyways. I don't really see how "Patriarchy" as a theoretical concept explains Josh's victimhood. if Josh is a victim "under patriarchy", the patriarchy would have to be a system which allows women to commit sexual assault without consequences, silences victims of those…
As an MRA and profoundly sexually frustrated male I feel the need to respond to Mr. Adams' yammerings. His view of masculinity is the sort of reductionism which is damaging to males. The notion that males operate in either of two default modes ('acquire sex' or 'commit violence') is insulting and sexist. It is true…
Any chance we'll see reviews of this show now that it's officially on the TV box?
Kit Harrington is dead?
The next day after watching that episode, I'm thinking about the parallels between Shireen's immolation and Kirkegaard's Fear and Trembling. It's odd to me how critical analysis of this season of GoT has ignored the themes of religious extremism which are very clear to me.
