Outside of "American Dad," I haven't cared for Seth McFarlane these days, pretty much for all of the standard reasons. I was actually dreading him as the host of the season premiere, but he absolutely killed it.  He obviously prepared well, kept an easy demeanor and, most importantly, looked like he was having fun
