I've done all the minigames three times total now, believe it or not. If/when I play again, I'll avoid the celestial weapon quests entirely, since that gives the game a pretty solid difficulty curve.

The sad thing is, it's impossible to hit that sweet spot where the superbosses are just the right level of difficult. You completely stomp the early ones, and the later ones are pattern recognition at max stats.

I did 100% in one run for X-2 back in the day, too. But that requires very specific steps. I'd like to play for fun, then get 100 on New Game Plus….kind of. I'm not sure I want to play through twice.

I platinumed Final Fantasy X tonight. Oy.

Continuing my journey through Final Fantasy X.

I really appreciate the extra effort they put into boss design in FFX, with many having reaction scripts to force you to change tactics, or just unique encounters like Chocobo Eater. The series had been pretty easy since 5, so it was nice facing some challenging bosses that just didn't use 4 abilities randomly.

I had a HILARIOUSLY easy time with the storyline blitzball match this game. I kept beating the odds and making the shots against the Goers. When Tidus got a fourth goal, the announcer said "Wow, what a comeback!" I had no clue what match he was watching.

To show you what a FFX maniac I am, I've got it on Vita and PS4! You can even switch saves between the two.

Well, since the FFXII remaster is out, naturally I'll be playing Final Fantasy X.

FFT definitely has balance issues with magic. Instant abilities are plentiful, and the strongest spells have prohibitively long cast times. It becomes either Calculators or nothing in the end game. It's a shame, since magic is so cool, but why bring a white mage, where I have to worry about zodiac compatibility,

Eventually I discovered the vaults had side passages/puzzles with treasure, and gates that opened only during the escape sequences leading to more treasure.

FO4 and MEA gave me very similiar positive feelings about making the game world a better place, MEA through terraforming worlds and FO4 by building settlements.

I'm sad they won't get that chance. If they dumped the open world and gave us more self contained missions - the loyalty and plot missions were some of the best parts of the game - Andromeda could have been a solid franchise.

My biggest issue with Mass Effect Andromeda is that the open worlds added nothing to the game. I never felt like the exploration was ever exciting or interesting, since the landscapes were all pretty uniform and the random little nodes were just fights with maybe a treasure chest. I never really understood the complaint that open world games that let you do anything come in conflict with the narrative…until I started playing Watch_Dogs this past week.

Oh lord, Dharma Temple. Or rather, Alltrades Abbey? If they stuck with that naming convention. I'm a little surprised they didn't nerf/alter that dungeon for the remake; it was really difficult in an already unusually tough game.

Continuing my Kingdom Hearts journey with Kingdom Hearts 2. I'll probably finish the main story this weekend and that's likely going to be my stopping point for now. I'm hungry for a more menu-y RPG.

Continuing through the Kingdom Hearts series with the interestingly named re:Chain of Memories .

It's the Final mix versions of both. 1 has a new boss, a few new weapons, some new Heartless for new synthesis materials, new skills and new orders that skills are learned. There's also a few new unvoiced cutscenes that don't add much. It's not a ton of stuff, but it's a fair amount.

I finished Tales of Berseria earlier this week, and now I'm on to Kingdom Hearts I.5 .
