@avclub-14118b537d7c2887df052a1464f9385a:disqus Agreed. Everyone's insistance that the death imagery spelled out suicide for one of the characters made me wonder if they had confused the show with Grey's Anatomy.

I was totally on suicide watch for pretty much the entirety of this episode (the only thing sadder than SCDP getting Jaguar would have been SCDP not getting Jaguar, I guess) until those last five seconds. Thanks, MW for not completely ruining my day.

The fact that Dunham's looks are an issue at all shows that these comments are rooted in misogyny. I'm sure not everyone would agree here, but I think that a lot of the comments that follow content about women like Alison Brie and Gillian Jacobs come from this place as well.  (Not just "Gawsh, she sure is pretty"

Thanks, Todd.

Thanks, Todd.

I fucking agree. It's great to know that as a young woman, even if you achieve making a film that lands in the Criterion Collection and then become the showrunner of an HBO series that you write, direct, edit, and star in you still get to be reduced to being torn apart by some anonymous internet assholes, because you

I think the ways that the show has deviated from the books (I've only read the first, hence my being in the newbies thread) have been excellent so far with the exception of her. Every scene she's in is squirm-inducing, whether it's because, as a straight
