@avclub-997c221538094d134659141cf61d51e3:disqus It was awhile ago that I saw it, but I remember being really mesmerized during one of the fire scenes that it didn't really even register what a gruesome thing it was at first.

Well, no.

You know? It is.

I liked Don't Go In The House a lot.I don't have anything clever to say…just wanted to say I liked it a lot.

Great writeup of a great show, thanks. Just a minor correction: Phyllis knew Mary from college though I think it was only mentioned in the pilot

"Superman does not end life willingly" is a biggie, up there with "Lois? I never lie". When I read that he kills Zod…I just don't think I'm in a hurry to see this.

It's on the Richard Donner-credited DVD release of 2006 (is that right? 2007) but even there it's a deleted scene. As has been noted elsewhere, though, it was used in various television broadcasts. I think most of the cut Donner footage had been used in TV edits. I know I remembered seeing Superman destroy the

Interestingly, it seems like the more new Superman movies there are, the better the original one is regarded.

THe thing that makes Bizarro a good option though is that his origin and nature is easily explained and understood. He's flexible too - I think one of the things that was good on Smallville (I know, so much bad too) was the episode with the Bizarro Clark, who basically did everything the opposite of Clark, including

I do think the comical Luthor is a major weakness in the Donner/Lester movie/s, but Hackman's performance is so good I really can just enjoy it for that.

"Excuse me." *flies away*

I think they were pretty upfront about wanting a more comicky movie, and the tone of the Lester input does seem to support that.

I know, I was just thinking that. And it KILLS me to see people hunting and pecking! Though it just makes me gladder that I learned how to type those many many years ago.

And I tell you, the planet is merely shifting its orbit.

And those producers famously fought him every step of the way, eventually firing him because his movie wasn't silly enough.

Oh hooo - maybe something about what really happened to Keenan Wynn?

Totally fine, because the "Hey, wait a minute!" aspect of this was old even in the 1970s. The whole dramatic point of that, I think, has always been the reveal. There's just no reason for her not to know - in fact, its kind of insulting, since she's a crack reporter…

Seriously, how did he ever land the reporting gig, though. Even the 1978 movie addressed that he came out of nowhere, but White says "He's the fastest typist I've ever seen"! Which really, is as good a reason as any.

Is this "Last Days Of Krypton"? It sure sounds like it. Yuck.

Uuuuh…I just got that. No Clark Kent, reporter? At all?
