Well, she is 76 - but the effects of plastic surgery and diabetes can't be discounted. I'm pretty sure she's been surgically enhanced at least since the mid-80's; in publicity photos for "Just Between Friends" her famous smile appeared to have widened by about 200%. http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Mary…

That. Was stupid.

True - but The New Odd Couple at least WAS a new odd couple. The New Dick Van Dyke and Andy Griffith Shows (I got tired) had the unenviable task of being followups to two of the best sitcoms that have been, or will be. It's hard to follow success, I imagine.

Haha you just reminded me of how…bitter is too strong a word, for it, but when MTM made  that speech at the tribute to Betty White recently, she said something about how Betty White "just…keeps…getting…work…", and she definitely was saying it through gritted teeth. I mean it was funny, and it was supposed to be, but

There's a Neil Jordan film in which Beverly D'Angelo is touring with a production of "Destry Rides Again" - I had no idea it was a real thing, but am obscurely pleased to find that it is.

I really didn't like "A Face In The Crowd" at all, and I think his performance is nearly unwatchable in that, though that had as much to do with the character as the performance.

It was a little older than the Seventies, but it always carried a whiff of desperation for sure - I didn't think until you said that about how pathetic it is to put it right there in the title…even with all of Lucille Ball's retreads, none of her shows' titles were "The NEW Lucy Show!" I guess it's not so bad when

Yeah, I wouldn't say it's the funniest, though his tussle with SueAnn is classic. But when he confront Mary about betraying his confidence, and tells her they can't be friends anymore - wow; that hit me like a ton of bricks..

Rhoda was kind of a reporter - she gave Mary continuous updates on her dating life.

But none of them played reporters…Ted definitely doesn't count. It was one of the best shows ever though.

I am so glad he mentioned the "Once I Had A Secret Love" episode of Mary Tyler Moore. It's hands-down one of the best things I've ever seen; I just saw it at random a few weeks ago when I happened to turn on MeTV, and it's truly one of the best things I've ever seen. Thanks, Mr. Grant!
