You know what, you're right. I should explore him a little more. I'm not doing myself any favors by not.

Again…I appreciate his contribution and place in music history, but do not enjoy listening to his recordings. I think that is not an invalid position; I don't enjoy listening to Dottie West either. I do like the song "Hickory Wind".

Yeah me too. Oh well. At least I had time to get used to its absence when it was on hiatus for so long.

I've always been awfully leery of delving into Parsons' country-music oeuvre…in the (admittedly little) I have heard, his sloppy pitch on songs like "Love Hurts" translates to my ears as "Hey man, hippies make everything better! Pitch? Ah, don't be so uptight, man."

It seems like the ones who really do believe it are pretty quick to make sure they're spouting it 24/7, not just in their movies. Louise Fletcher and Ernest Borgnine would probably be first to admit that the paycheck is #1, when you're a working actor.

But such things are the stuff of which legend is made, aren't they - which makes this infuriating, trivializing SHIT even more - infuriating.
The lily needs not gilt, and the altar of God needs not man's adornment.

I didn't realize until after I posted the above, but just the way Lou and SueAnn's getting together is handled is so non-sensationalistic. I mean, two unmarried, established characters on an established, long-running sitcom hooked up, and then continued with their lives. From what I saw, it subtly changes the dynamic
