Dr. Jekyll was the equivalent of Deadwood's theater troupe.
Variety posted an interview with John Logan and the Showtime president who stated this was planned but I'm not buying it. It reminds me of Neil Jordan claiming he wrote The Borgias final episode as a finale but it was even more open-ended than this. Also,…
I like using restaurant analogies to describe tv dramas and The Walking Dead is the Cracker Barrel of shows.
As far as endings go, an essentially surprise "live" one was certainly interesting and will earn it a spot on the list of memorable cable drama endings. That said, you don't see the word "emo" thrown around as a perjorative as much these days but that conclusion was some emo-ass emo.
I'm a fan of the Hardcore History podcast with Dan Carlin who does a great job of bringing ancient battles to life and this was as close as an approximation as to what it felt like to be involved in a killing pit as I've seen in media. I think the show sometimes forgets to differentiate the houses (the Greyjoys…
Exactly, I think it works as an episodic series of post-apocalyptic set pieces. The road chase scratched my Mad Maxn itch and I liked the universe-expanding collection of cyborgs)including cgi Arnie) for the heroes to fight. Also, the resistance being based out of a submarine was an interesting idea. Sort of dumb…
Tangential but this notion out there on the internet that TMZ reports fake or made up news is ridiculous. Their scoops always check out.
I'm guessing that this is going to be a safe place to admit I kind of liked Terminator Salvation and him pulling off a credible Baby Biehn was certainly a reason. I had seen him in Alpha Dog prior and wasn't a huge fan but it was his Kyle Reese that won me over.
Yeah, these articles were written to get me to laugh at Smashmouth but my main takeaway is that kids that grew up in the 00's are annoying.
Its an HBO drama, though, protagonists don't make it out alive.
I was talking about this in another thread that while I can't speak for the other actors, Fassbender can pass for anywhere from about 35 to 50. I looked it up and was surprised that he's only 39, in fact.
The things Olvia Munn would do to get in on those Deadpool box office grosses. Gross is the operative word.
I'm actually pretty (papal) bullish on this one.
Its just a (not so) sneaky way for the AV Club to spark a dozen more political debates in the comment section and drive up the clicks by extension.
**googles Megh Wright**
I'm just shocked the ol' AV Club would call something they like out for something like this. Normally anything alt comedy gets a huge pass while certain movies/shows from certain creators are held to the utmost scrutiny. Good on them.
Whoever makes a parody website of the AV Club will have my eternal gratitude. For Our Consideration, Hatesong, Great Job Internet. Its so ripe for it.
This looks like generic sci-fi space shooting, but that Xbox 360 demo for the original was something else in its time.
Did you hear the one about the Polish bows….?
Yeah, I grew up on the cartoon too, so at the time of the first couple movies, the whole affair felt really stripped down and they left me kind of cold, even X2 which a lot of people really liked at the time.
