Yeah, when I recognized him as a gorilla in the Planet of The Apes remake, it cemented him as a "Hey, its him!" actor in my mind. I'd say his performance and character in PotA '01 is one of the best things in that movie. Admittedly, not saying much, but still…

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I get the impression less and less people here (both writers and commentators) just want to goof off and spend their days talking pop culture for the fun of it and would rather get into tangental political arguments.

To have been a fly on the wall as two grownass men have a tense conversation about who played Shang Tsung would have been quite a trip.

There's this feature on The AV Club and then there's everything else.

The Matrix producers should have learned from Back to the Future Part III.

The ride always breaks down shortly after it begins once you hit The Farm room while you have to sit around and wait for mechanics* to fix it. Unfortunately the mechanics are all incompetent and you can never get back on track. THAT is The Walking Dead Ride.

Good user name/comment synergy.

I don't think I'd call the original Baywatch series "trashy". It was actually pretty earnest and wholesome mid-90's syndicated fare. Highlight episodes included the one were Ric Flair and the WCW roster of villains concocted some plan to take over the beach and the one with the giant squid(!).

Your take on The SOA Fan is a bit different than mine. Based on anecdotal evidence I think a large part of the fanbase was females from a certain socioeconomic background.

This is the correct answer as to why it didn't catch on. Those type of people wouldbe willing to watch a bad show provided it was a world with which they could relate.

I'm curious if these shows start looking better. Daredevil looked cheap as hell with its Shadowy Deserted Warehouse aesthetic.

I got your back on Ray Donovan. Season 3 was really fun.

SPECTRE played like the writers found an unused Moore-era script from 1982 and made it using cutting edge direction and production. And that's a good thing! It was fun to see Craig get to spread his wings a little and just enjoy participating in a globe trotting romp for most of the movie.

Can we get a newswire a our Pierce Brosnan throwing a little shade on Spectre? I saw Spectre this weekend and, since I'm self centered, I'd like a new space to talk about it.

On the bright side, this level of project is what Gerard Butler deserves.

Sadly, I think TV critics who should know better seem to be trending toward wanting safe, predictable shows even more so than general audiences.

You're giving Greenwald way too much credit. I think it was the tumblr crowd that moonlights as TV critics at certain outlets (read between the lines on that) who got to him more.

Pizzolatto or bust (insert Alexandra Dadarrio joke). But seriously, I liked the warts and all journey into a writer's psyche. Sanding down the rough edges with a writer's room would lead to a homogenized and safe product.

The world needs more shows to be inspired by Cy Tolliver. That much I know to be true.
