Ray Donovan has had two really solid episodes to start the season. I think the new showrunner has righted the ship.

"Let me get that hot dog, no homo" - cam'ron

I'm not really the target audience for Cruising but I had a phase of watching gritty late 70's/early 80's crime dramas a couple years ago and found this to be one of the good ones. It makes a great double feature with Paul Schrader's Hardcore starring George C. Scott (sort of a proto 8mm, only grungier). Both were

Maybe I missed it, but how could they not include when Muldoon flaunts his impressivley muscular legs to Grant outside the raptor cage?

He and the actor that plays Mr. Wu would comment regularly on Sepinwall's rewatch reviews. I think there were a couple other randoms that popped up too like Dillahunt.

Probably more than Billy Zane.

It would only take $1.21 to get Billy Zane back to the franchise.

I don't even know if you have to spoiler tag that considering he was the most inconsequential character on the show. Also, according to Jim Beaver, he was kind of a jerk on set. Trust me, I know these things….

Xena on Starz would actually be a perfect fit.

The Avengers (2012)? Yes. I meant that.

The Avengers was on last night. That's almost here. At least you can wave off Van Helsing and The Mummy as taking place in fantastical worlds where all things look "off".

Maybe it was in his contract. Granted, that's a lot of clout for a guy who had about 10 minutes of screen time but Pizzollato is a noted Deadwood (smart guy) and I support W.E.B. getting paid well.

"Sort of awesome in (its) relentless nihiliism" sums up my thoughts on the show.

What's hot in think pieces now? The Amy Schumer well seems like its getting a little dry.

Yeah I've read a couple of his books in the past year and the influence is blatantly obvious. I guess our critic overlords aren't that well read.

Have any critics even made this connection yet?

McAdams deserves an Emmy nod. Farrell too. Its going to be tough though considering nominations are about 12 months from now and people are likely to forget the work they've done. They are knocking it out of the park.

This was the leanest episode of the season so far and I liked it.
What scene is going to launch more think pieces: Ani in the sexual harrassment class or Paul's mother being revealed to be a bitter crone who stole all his money?
Speaking of Paul's money, my prediction is that Frank exploits Paul by hiring him to take

Crazier still when I thought it was a gang led by director Walter Hill.
