Generally I like social histories but lately I've been reading more about specific historical events like the Battle of Bunker Hill.

I like her and I'm interested in her story arch/ self-exploration, I'm just interested in the side characters more. Mostly because they are the ones that at first seem threatening to Piper. I like that the show is making an effort to give complexity to those people around Piper.

I did find it interesting how everyone in the cast had some stake in saying "Look, drug dependence is terrible and has terrible side effects". It's definitely a film that keeps it's message (and the message of PKD's work) front and center.

lol Just run away from anyone who offers to show you the "life of the mind" :) Seriously though, it's great that you have that talent and the drive to pursue it now.

Exactly. The only role it would amuse me more if he won for would have been In and Out.

Absolutely with the wife there. The whole opening is a great reflection of the rest of the film. It's that faith vs. realism debate. Yes, he's a dybbuk but do you really believe that demons could exist?

I'd watch the hell out of that movie. It would just be Harrelson and RDJ negotiating the purchase of a bike. I would require at least one of them to quote Kanye's famous tweet "I make awesome decisions in bike stores!"

Miss Claudette is by far my favorite character. Not only is her back story sympathetic but the way she conducts herself in prison is refreshing to watch after all the other characters.

Rolling Kansas is a pretty terrible film with some quotable moments. I very occasionally still yell "our weed is full of trunk" at my friends while in the car.

Yes, I work for a history museum. lol Obviously I'm a little biased in favor of museum visits, but museums are very time consuming.

*GENERAL BOARDWALK EMPIRE SPOILERS*

My love for Helo Agathon knows no bounds.

I maintain that the worst thing Walt has ever done is continually drag Jesse back into the business with him. I don't like to toss the word "evil" about much, but there is something really evil about the way Walt has toyed with Jesse throughout the whole series.

The fun part about watching Clueless now is trying to take the "Baldwin" and Mel Gibson references seriously.

I didn't view Beasts of the Southern Wild as attempting to re-cast poverty so much as it was showing the entire world-view of Hushpuppy. She really has no idea what she's missing because she hasn't had experiences with the outside world. The one thing I did find interesting is the use of gender roles in the film.

Absolutely! Recommendations are gladly accepted!

I teach museum collections management for a grad program. Basically, it's all the  care, ownership, and registration issues that go into a museum's collection. The material itself can be dry but the nice thing about having worked in museums for a couple years now is that I have real-world stories that tend to make the

What I always love about A Fish Called Wanda is that Kevin Kline won his Oscar for that film. Of all the Oscar Bait films that exist every year it's always great to see a great comedic performance come from out of nowhere to win.

A Serious Man is a top five film for me and probably my favorite Coen Brothers film. I love everything about that film but especially that opening story/parable. I even love hearing why other people hated it.

Agreed about the final action sequence. Everyone talks about the long single take in the car but the most moving moment in the whole film is Theo, Key, and the baby walking down the stairs and out of the building. There's such beauty in that the baby recalls their humanity but it's too late to stop the fighting for
