I have the same Disqus problem at work. It was really annoying when I read the Cannes coverage and wanted to talk about some of the films.

Done. Thanks for the reminder (serious, not sarcastic).
The Thin Man or My Man Godfrey will leave you with a crush on the debonair William Powell.
Stalag 17! Don't forget Stalag 17 for William Holden love!
Yeah, I'm not a huge Gosling fan but that whole part with him and Emma Stone at his house is adorable.
Olive is completely stand out in season two. Just the whole arc with her in the convent was great and then they kept managing to grow her character. I'm so happy that Kristin Chenowith won an Emmy for that season and I would still give a limb to get new episodes of that show.
Yeah, I wasn't a fan of Across the Universe either. I felt like it started with very literal interpretations of the songs and then just got weirder because it could. I did love their version of 'I've just seen a face" though. Probably the highlight of the film.

The part I find so incredibly beautiful in Eternal Sunshine is when they're running through the memories and Joel is finally just begging "Please, just let me keep this one." The ending can go either way in that film but I love the idea that even a failed relationship can have one moment that you want with you forever.
Watched:
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil: enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm surprised people though it lost steam towards the end because I didn't even start to love the film until the sheriff showed back up at Tucker and Dale's vacation home.
National Treasure 2
Let me tell you, this doesn't char my tree and…yeah, Jerry isn't coming out of the boat.
*sigh* I miss Roger Ebert's reviews.
I'm a big fan of when Daniel Stern's character gets hit in the face by multiple bricks and is pretty much unfazed.
What I do like about Home Alone 2 is that Kevin's mother shows some actual parental knowledge of her son's likes and dislikes. She figures out Kevin will be at Rockefeller Plaza because of his love of Christmas.
Well it's NASCAR….so, yeah, I'll go with none of them are stars.
On the topic of racing but unrelated to the Indy: I saw a headline the other day that said "NASCAR star wins at Charlotte"…that pretty much describes most drivers. Not descriptive at all.
agreed. John Slattery has been my favorite so far. It's amazing how a man who is generally so debonair can turn skuzzy just with the addition of a beard.
On the bright side, he advertised his love for Take Shelter, Mud, and A Serious Man on his twitter page. So, that was pretty great.
Agreed about Gray. Generally speaking, his films are pretty flawed but in interesting ways (generally, in my opinion, Phoenix's characters). Two Lovers was one of the few films I would actually describe as haunting (End of film discussion: happiness for Phoenix's character or like two months away from actually killing…
