This is exactly where I am with District 9. I feel like even if there is a sequel made I won't see it because the first works well enough alone.

For the record: I would watch the hell out of an Oscars ceremony hosted by Joaquin Phoenix. Even if it was just him setting fire to all the awards envelopes and cursing in his usually mumbling way.

"I think my hooker is dead"

"who's this?"
"This is my platonic work-friend Amy."
"oh, thanks"

So, does AV Club check out the different studio sizzle reels, too?

Yes. I imagine there will be a whole generation of kids that aviod six-pack rings and zoos just because of that movie.

28 Days Later: "Hey, this movie is awesome. Look at them, shopping with no one else around. Wait, how did that bird drop blood directly into Brenden Gleeson's eye? Oh, good the solider are here. Wait…they're going to do what to the women? I…I don't want to watch this anymore."

A Serious Man is my favorite Coen Brothers' film and a top ten movie for me, but anything they could have picked to go after that opening story can be considered a bait and switch.

Unless, at one point, he feels he needs to take up the job of keeping Oliver in check. He doesn't have to be an arch-enemy but he could be a balancing force.

Barrowman as full-on villan was my favorite part of the episode. His long-burning frustraiting at everyone questioning his desire to destroy the glades for killing his wife coming to a complete end in front of the one person he thought should understand his feelings was perfect. It wasn't "yes, I think we should." it

"Well, he could have been hiding weapons in the hood. Really the only way to ensure the supposed safety of the evil lair was to take his shirt off." -CW executive and those of use who appreaciate a shirtless Stephen Amell.

I sometimes think "parkour!" during those scenes. Does that help?

@avclub-5c7646b1d39fc0715f330479e4e5f254:disqus that's right. NBC has the Dracula show on a different night. I mixed up my horror-ish remakes.

Damn, when they're all compared together I just might end up watching Sleepy Hollow. Well played, NBC.

Yeah, it's been going on for a few years now. The first time I noticed it was season 2 of Supernatural, which would have been 2006-7. It's a little jarring the first time you notice it.

"Welcome, Jess. Welcome. I'm just trying to stay positive but, um, I think this is where we die."

"I don't think the badger was actually rabid. I think he was just kind of a dick."

I initally read this as "I could save by switching to EGOT?!" and immediately thought "well, no wonder he wants that Oscar so bad."

"The top is still spinning."

Show me all the blueprints.
