I'm oddly excited about DiCaprio's and Waltz's nominations. Tarantino adds an interesting dynamic to the otherwise pretty similar films that get the nominations/wins.

That's the Golden Globes for you: always nominating some random piece of crap (i.e. The Tourist) to go with the plausible nominations. It's why Ricky Gervais is actually a perfect host for the Globes. The Globes need to be mocked because they're clearly not even trying to pretend credibility anymore.

I missed last week's episode but I feel like Danny was consistent with what we've seen of him in past episodes: gruff, loner guy who actually cares.

"It also very nicely addressed the problem with one of this show’s comedy
cornerstones—will Penny be forever unlucky in love, sabotaging nice
relationship after nice relationship because of some weird quirk or
irrational fear? Can Max just be her annoying buddy until the end of
time?"

Apparently Christoph Waltz was being run as "lead" actor but critics were all "we're not buying that shit" and moved him back to supporting.
