Apparently Christoph Waltz was being run as "lead" actor but critics were all "we're not buying that shit" and moved him back to supporting.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed his performance. His manic moments were pretty impressive and he obviously has a history as a comedic actor that helped with the latter half of the film.

Yeah, I have no illusion that he'll win. Even if he did I wouldn't have an anger reaction so much as I would just politely disagree and point at DDL and Phoenix.

It was pretty good. Nothing amazing but the characters were well-rounded and it pretty impressively handled mob-mentality/hatred of differences.

I have no actual complaints about these nominees. Glad to see Looper getting some attention. I like the Best Picture list. I like that Supporting Actor continues to shift a little bit as each of these nominating groups announce their choices. It'll be interesting to see what popular opinion does to Django Unchained

It would have been nice if there had been an explanation of The Institute's criterion for it's decisions mixed in with all of that snark. If they're going for the popular impact of film then I totally get the Dark Knight Rises inclusion over The Master. If it's best films of the year then I would have liked The Master

"So wait, if the Phantom was just a disfigured kid with no formal musical education, how did he write an entire opera? Weird."

How is George a dick for wanting his uncle punished for his own mistake? George didn't loose the money. The better question is who the hell put the flightly uncle in charge of depots anyway?

It depends on the episode. Some episode titles perfectly match the episode's theme. Others are just associated with crazy stuff happening. For example, Breaking Bad has some crazy stuff happen in this season…but none of it matches the end of "Crawl Space" so I don't remember these episode titles relating to specific

Light the lamp, not the rat! Light the lamp, not the rat!

if it was singing dialog (opera style) with Once-ish music, I'd be in to that.
