Same here. ET was the monster under my bed (and in my closet/basement/anywhere I was frightened to be alone). I have no good will feelings towards ET the character or ET the film.

I got misty-eyed at their reunion as well. Jefferson/Mad Hatter has…or maybe had…potential to be a really interesting character if they would just expand on him a bit. I would willingly drop a character or two if it meant exploring his character.

I remember thinking that if Tree of Life hadn't been out last year I probably would have wanted Descendants to win the Oscar. Shailene Woodley was great but I think the little sister also deserved some credit. Her reaction to the mother's death was what got me while watching.
