What I wrote sounded more flippant than I meant: I very much agree with your opinion on Marion and Shirley Jones' treatment of the character. I think the movie still works as well as it does because Marion is a strong, independent, smart character dealing with the constant and varied ignorance of the other people in

Right now the KC Drafthouse is just a half-converted giant AMC theater. I think they're still trying to figure out what to do with the place. As far as I could tell they don't do any dinner servings yet and they only served a handful of things. The friend I went with has been to the one in Austin and she said it was

I have the box set of all the Thin Man films but I've never made it passed the first film. I know there have to be fun moments in the other films but since I've heard/read repeatedly that number 1 is the best I don't have a huge desire to let any of the other films influence my love of the first film.

I wanted to see what he was going to do because he was so creepy at times and then so on. Raging Bull made me want to distance myself from all of those characters as soon as I possibly could. Even the abused

Forgot to mention, I also listened to the full Mercury Radio broadcast of War of the Worlds. I was surprised by how realistic it seemed after the first five minutes (and up until the station identification break). I could totally picture myself driving home from work, flipping on the radio late, and being engrossed by

1. It's been years since I've read Cat's Cradle but I remember getting into all the Bokonism stuff. That's a book where I doubt I remember every detail but what I do remember is very clearly illustrated in my head.
