I agree with your view of The Artist. It's a nice little movie but there's no reason it should have won Best Picture. Especially in a year that had "Shame", "Take Shelter", and "Tree of Life".

I'd be interested to see the leaned out version of The Shining. It's one of the few stories where I enjoyed both the book and movie even though they were drastically different. In the book there's always the sense that if one little thing changes at any given moment then they could have escaped. Kubrick didn't seem…

LOVE Blues Brothers! I periodically get "Minnie the Moocher" stuck in my head thanks to this film.

huh, Jamie Kennedy is indeed in the film but I don't recall him breakdancing at any point. He was a wanna-be rapper who's father (Ryan O'Neil) had kidnapped in order to save his political campaign. Taye Diggs and Anthony Anderson play the kidnappers.

It's times like these when I wish Supernatural kept John Winchester around so Jeffery Dean Morgan didn't wander into this stuff.

Thanks to my father's fear that I'd never see these episodes and my own cultural osmosis, I know the punchline to half of these without watching. I'm not sure if that fact makes me feel annoyed or like a hipster.

Marty was always my favorite. Even when he became an asshole I kind of felt Rory deserved it for, once again, ignoring the good guy in favor of the asshat.

The "National Baptism Day" line is my favorite in the entire run of the show.

Wow AV Club, just when I'm thinking about selling back these DVDs back you remind me of how much teenaged-me wished to live in Star's Hollow.
