Ha, I'm currently translating this show for the German market, nice to see it get recognition on the AV Club! It's such a fun quirky little show. This type of cartoon is usually not my thing (I only ever saw a couple eps of Adventure Time), but it's lovingly made.

I agree, Nightwing is hot.

Seconding everything mentioned so far, and adding in no particular order:

@avclub-fec1b8d3fbc08f27a84e5a334d45bb5a:disqus Vince Gilligan, watching the Dexter finale: "DAMN."
(I'm kidding. Vince Gilligan didn't watch the Dexter finale.)

The thought "Aw hell no, don't drag Louis into this!!" literally crossed my mind in that scene.

"Hard To Watch", based on the novel "Stone-Cold Bummer" by Vince Manipulate :(

I never liked it when people made a clear distinction between Walt and Heisenberg, because I felt it sorta undermines the complexity of the character. Yes, Heisenberg is/was a useful persona for what Walt set out to do, but he's not somehow evenly split into a "good" and an "evil" side, he is one man.

Re Dean Norris' Emmy tape: Blood Money! He was great throughout this entire season, but the way he played Hank's shock and revulsion at the WW reveal, plus the scene in the garage at the end was incredible.

Between the Darmody incest, Gillian/Rosetti and their asphynxiation shenanigans, and now the raceplay/humiliation-scenario, BE sure knows how to utilize disturbing, uncomfortable sex scenes.

Me too, I'm really excited about the Onyx Club and the loaded social atmosphere surrounding it. Go Chalky!

I hope I'm not being an ass about this, but I'm from Europe and I love following the US elections (so do a lot of people I know!). Apart from the fact that it's a country we have a close & important relationship with, there also is a certain showiness to it that I don't get from the politicians here. And the fact that

At this point, this show would be *a little* redeemed for me if it ended with Hannah poisoning both Dexter and Harrison, going "Well, Dex, this is kinda what I do." It'd at least be an acknowledgement by the writers how dumbass that whole "serial killers in lurve living happily ever after"-conceit really is. Of course

Heh, implying that Dexter cares more about Harrison than he cares about Hannah…

It's because all those 45 year olds secretly want to be single 22 year olds? I'm just guessing.

"It's a doozy, so hold on to your hats."

The characterization of Talia is the one thing in Morrison's run (which I love) that makes me uncomfortable for the exact reasons you stated. Even though the payoff was admittedly powerful.

Honest question, if Will can propose so earnestly that he wants everyone to be one inch nicer, how come he's never nice or respectful to anybody except his alcoholic boss?

I'm surprised by the positive response this got. I thought it was a real cop-out. There were barely any new developments in the truth department, which ultimately rendered Seward's whole plotline a cruel shaggy dog story and turned his prolonged walk to the gallows into pointless misery porn. It seemed to me like a

I agree that he isn't Christ-like, that's why it annoys me so much when people seem to assume that, oh, that's such a natural route to take with the character. I get that it's easy to style him as a messianic figure, but I also think he's got more in common with Moses.

"The Christ/angel imagery is inescapable (at one point, Supes falls from the sky, his arms outstretched as if he’s on a cross), but what else could you possibly be looking for in a Superman film? "
