Henry V is pretty great.

@avclub-ffc905126015cdc6758873970fb59828:disqus He's perfect in a Dracula movie because he can so easily be mistaken for a wooden stake.

Yeah, as a Whedon fan myself, I just wish people had come out to see The Avengers. There's such an emphasis on opening weekend numbers nowadays that a potential cult-favorite like that isn't given time to find it's audience.  It's really good though, I wish I could get someone to give it a shot.

Now I just wish I got invited to Joss Whedon's parties.

I fucking love Richard III (both the play and the character).  I think despite being a "history" he's Shakespeare's strongest villain.  Like Macbeth without the remorse/crazy, or Iago without the self-destructive streak.  He's the only one who could possibly get away with it.

Eh Prince John is such a cardboard villain, that I thought Keanu's cardboard character work was pretty much appropriate.

Dogberry is just fucking dire in pretty much every production I've seen.  I'm thinking Filion's inherent likableness may just overcome Dogberry's inherent horribleness…

@avclub-57d52315bb7494c8b0679a446fe95c6a:disqus I could have sworn I watched this, and somehow never caught that.

"Authenticity" in music is a slippery slope into a dark hole at the bottom of which lies the first caveman who banged two rocks together rhythmically.

Because aiming things at dudes is the default, so anything that is purely functional is deemed masculine by marketers.  Male is the default, you take that, paint it pink and cover it in glitter (and make it more expensive and less functional) and you have the "Female" version.

Interesting question, but might be more accurate to ask why don't American boys need girlbands?  There seem to be a pretty consistent supply of them in the UK, off the top of my head, the Saturdays, Girls Aloud, Atomic Kitten…

I thought it was his acting philosophy: Always Be Cooking.

Don't know if it's still active, and I'm not going to try to find out at work, but IIRC, Dick's actually did try a woman-focused sub-site called Chickswithdicks.com

"hyper-efficient boys in blue and khaki?" Are you sure that wasn't just the male half of a class of interns?  Did they have smartphones and a vague sense of over-privileged smugness?

"The O.C. loves the new Rooney album, and here's why you should, too"

My personal version of The OC consists of most of Season 1 and about 2 episodes picked from Season 2.

Fire Island BAD!

less stress on the second syllable. More like "gaym'n"
