It's a funny thing about Who fandom (perhaps fandom in general) that it seems to be mostly about hating the show.

But the acted much more like Black Mercy plants than head-crabs or face-huggers.

This might be too obvious, but Batman Adventures and Superman Adventures etc were all-ages comics set in the DCAU. I didn't get around to them myself, but they're supposed to be really good.
