Just finished "American War," by Omar El Akkad.
It's about a future American embroiled in civil war and the toll it takes on the protagonist who fights against what remains of the U.S. government on behalf of the Free Southern State.
The only thing I found hard to buy was the reason for why the Free Southern State was

I was at the center of the pop culture world with my first visit to Comic-Con down in San Diego.
I had a good time despite not getting into any panels with celebrities in them. My one celebrity spotting moment was when the "Game of Thrones" cast was exiting out the back of the exhibition hall and I could see Gwendolyn

I did finally finish reading that 800 page bio on Richard Brautigan. It was a well done book about an author not likely thought of much these days. Someone should do a documentary on Brautigan while everyone who knew him is still living.

"Rear Window" is my all-time favorite Hitchcock film, and would definitely be in my top 10.
It's amazing that the action all takes place in one room, yet there are all the subplots involving the other tenants in the building. And, well, a murder.

After a recent re-reading of "The Green Mile," decided to watch the movie again.
