Thanks, @olivececile:disqus !

I was going through the back catalogue of The Good Wife around the same time that season 2 of this was actually airing and it was shocking to see her do "evil bitch" so well. Those are the only two things I've seen her in, but I definitely want to see more of her.

And yet she actually dresses better than most current comic book supervillains.

June rolling down that hill just killed me.

I know, right? Bitch had a stellar second season, and I will never understand ABC's decision to ignore the fantastic (then) current episodes in favor of the much shakier Season 1 burn-offs.

Good point. The asylum being imagined as a brothel only makes sense as a metaphor made in hindsight, like if that girl who escaped was trying to explain it to someone, but it doesn't make sense as a fantasy Baby Doll would have. (Or maybe it does, it's not like we get a lot of character information about her).

So Emily's reviews will be available on iTunes?

I know! I was really excited and then it just never materialized.

Equally valid.

You know what I would have liked in this movie? A reason for all of the fantasy sequences.

I actually think I might like this movie more if there were an option just to watch each fantasy on its own as short films.

To be fair, it's a misconception that "art" = "good."

Blue Is My Favorite Sucker Punch?

I always liked Sophie, but largely because she reminds me of a girl I liked on high school.

Actually, if you consider the sheer volume of content broadcast over the airwaves since television began it's a much less radical statement than you might think.

Todd actually talks about that in his review of the pilot episode. I really think you should give the second episode a try because it is such an improvement and feels a lot more like what will follow.

The interview isn't officially over until Todd posts a video clip of "Call The Understudy" (or whatever the proper title of that song is).

It's not just an impossible role, it's a completely thankless one, especially in a society that has so completely embraced Conrad's Hero's Journey as (seemingly) the only kind of story anyone wants to tell/see.
