May I just say that I think "Bloody Face" is kind of a weak name for a serial killer?

I think that's a fair assessment. Some people just don't have what it takes to direct a musical. It's a tricky thing, because they don't quite work like regular dramas or comedies. And then of course it gets even tricker when the musical in question is straddling a tricky tonal line to begin with.

Good point. I can understand them wanting to save it for their grande finale, but if they knew it was going to be cut a little restructuring couldn't hurt.

Absolutely the footage is amazing, I agree with you 100%. Hell, if I oversaw something that complicated that so many people worked so hard on I'd want to show off as much of it as I could, too. The puppeteering, the model work, pyrotechnics, it's all really great.

If the show is actually going to move away from the Dawson's Creek jokes, then I'm fine with them overdoing it in this episode as the joke's swan song. Sometimes the only way to kill a joke, is to overkill it. (Hmmm… that feels like it should be a CSI: Miami line)
