I think there is a real "less is more" aspect to it. For me, it just took up too much of the episode.

@avclub-64ad8f3af92ef8d9a1c7dfd7265e577d:disqus I agree. In that first Borg appearance the Borg were interested in the ship, and not at all interested in the assimilating the people aboard. That aspect was changed in later appearances, and made the Borg more conventional villains.

Yes, it seems to me that a telepathic race would be more likely to have a heieroglyphic language (pictures for words) rather than an alphabetic language (words as a sequence of sounds). I should think that would make the translation even more problematic than in the episode, where I believe it's implied that the

One attribute where humans stand out in comparison to other species on Earth is brain size relative to total body mass. So if Kanamits are into "brain food" they might very well seek out sentient species for their next domestication project.

Can we can assume the 148 dudes signed up for the same reason? I'd say the ratio fits his fandom pretty well.

@avclub-bd847fd835b2c6025557898b6aff7b2d:disqus If they're going for inauspicious, I think present day US might be outdoing them with the number of ships named after our politicians.

I though even Agamemnon was an odd choice for a vessel if you know how he ended up and why.

I can see that. Paintball is too close to reality not to bring out his anxious controlling side. D&D is on the more comfortable end of the reality/fantasy spectrum for him.

Good point about Sheldon's other side. Even so, the game itself was not that interesting, until the love spell thing (which was kind of mean, but led to some character development).

I expected Sheldon to be a very different sort of player, staying in character, no meta-commentary, stickler for rules, and not appreciative of out-of-universe celebrity schtick.

Everything except trains? Does he avoid the model train sets that feature tunnels?

IIRC he had a special deal where his law license was suspended until he replaced his fraudulent Undergrad degree with a real one.

And Annie's lowest point has hardly been infatuation with Jeff. She was a stressed out pill head remember.

"All a dream" only works for me if you stay with the dreamer's POV. Anything else is cheating, IMHO.

It's been too long for me to remember, but the Supernatural wiki says John's friends were targeted until he gave up the colt. That's quite similar, you're right.

Whatever you think of the joke, I thought Julie Bowen nailed it. That tip jar maneuver gave me a chuckle.

Since she couldn't move the attached parts of her body with the bullet in place, leaving her hands off and free of the bullet's effect seems to be the worst thing they could have done. Still would have worked out OK with a properly locked and mojo'ed box as mentioned elsewhere.

This is the first time they've found anything about the ice wall implausible? A giant wall of ice that hasn't slumped or flowed any where along its length for thousands (?) of years? And they think it would be too solid to have that sort of crack open up. Greenland and Antarctica would like a few words.

Steven Sondheim would call it "Sorry-Grateful" perhaps?
