"Like how having an illegal underclass earning below minimum wage is somehow not suppressing wages in the working class who're unable to work for below the minimum wage."

On Facebook? Sure, Grandpa…

"Dumb article…"
"Also its been what, four years since that article was written…"
"The feds ended up gutting the laws anyway sometime in 2012-13…"

Agree completely. Not all Trump voters are racists and bigots and misogynists.

*watches the point sail thirty thousand feet over emil's head*

I love that your response is complaining that the same liberals who've created twenty different flavors of microaggressions are being insufficiently sensitive to your feelings and fail to appreciate the rich diversity of exactly how racist someone is.

Such a nasty man.

Could you explain it to me, please?

Yes, it's a fair point that's not made often enough. People had to vote for Trump, because Lena Dunham was mean to them on Twitter.

And I suspect that, if you were a woman or immigrant or LGBT person, you probably didn't laugh it off. That's why it's called privilege.

Or, you know. Be okay with the world not being entirely about you.

Even if we grant that AVClub commenters got Trump nominated (you're adorable), the notion that there's any equivalence between someone who voted for Trump and… well, anything else… is absurd. It's the same Both Sides/Turd Sandwich-Giant Douche apathetic nonsense that led to his normalization.

Yes, every immigrant living in fear, every LGBT person assaulted on the streets, every person whose life depends on the ACA… yes, all of those people coasted.

"Mr. Garrison points out that PC Principal is just as responsible for putting him into power as anyone who actually agreed with Garrison’s agenda. He’s right."

Yes, because if there's one group whose feelings are insufficiently coddled, it's racist white people.

Well the obvious suspect is Margos Dezerian. Someone better tell Michael Chiklis… good thing Chiklis had super-strength the last time we saw him.

Not voting doesn't somehow let you tag out of your culpability. You still pay taxes to the government she'll run, obey the laws it passes, and and bear the consequences of its decisions, good or bad.

Are we at all bothered that Alex has become a full-on curb-stomping Serpico lunatic? If one guy in a bar doesn't give you the info you want, ask someone else, maybe even the bartender. You don't get to beat a guy to the ground and then step on his goddamned neck just because you might have to talk to two whole people

That's an interesting take, but I'm not sure it explains much. The "distinct world from Gaiman et al." you bring up does have Lucifer as the first-born, and Carey's run only emphasized that, yes, it does rather make sense to have 'The Lightbringer' be the first-born, because otherwise everyone else is flying around

Has the show ever explained why it demoted Lucifer from God's firstborn son (which has been the consistent mythology for a few millennia now) to one of his youngest? I guess I don't really understand what the show is buying itself by deviating from the source material like this.
