The original is still a blast, but this one seems more like what they originally had in mind. Blood. Viscera. Gore. Terror.

Thank you, though, for pointing out that the first movie was not intended to be a comedy, just an over the top horror extravaganza. I'm glad they're going back to that well for this. We haven't had a good ol' blood-vomiting demon horror film in a while.
Thank you. Some of the least "Lovecraftian" writing is done in his name. I'm thinking of things like "Fall of Cthulhu" which I enjoyed but which never felt like it really took place in his world.
No, I accept that there are tentacles in Lovecraft, but it seems like anything that comes out with a tentacled monster gets labelled "Lovecraftian" while many monster-less stories that are more in line with his style and philosophy are forgotten. I'm not saying Fatale isn't Lovecraftian, just making an observation.
People tend to conflate tentacles with Lovecraft but I've recently reread Lovecraft's work and there is a surprising lack of tentacles.
TEACHER: Bazooka Joe, use "Grotus" in a sentence.
BAZOOKA JOE: That farmer sure "grotus" some nice tomatoes! Haw!
TEACHER: Fuck you.
But, seriously, back to "Grotus."
I hope he had just seen it and was trying to impress her. If the conversation had continued, he would have launched into his ten minute praise of the Jimmy Neutron crossover and maybe "Turtles Forever."
The best part is the guy discussing the Fairly Odd Parents live action special to some woman over the mic at the beginning.
Wait, wasn't whats her face on that? Juliette Lewis?
A BTTF/Roger Rabbit crossover?
I was just reminded that there was a The Thing sequel/remake. What happened to that?
That's it! They used to air it as an episode of DS in syndication.
Maybe that's what I was thinking of. I believe I've conflated that with Hello Larry.
Oh shit, I forgot about that! Mostly because I've obsessed over these things since I was a kid in shortpants.
Oh, failed back-door pilots. There was one on "Diff'rent Srokes" about a guy who adopted a mess of unwanted kids.
He once said that if he ever wrote another full-length it would be an adaptation of "Groundhog Day" because he would love the challenge of repeating musical themes while slightly altering them as Phil relives his day. I dream of that musical some times.
I hope in Joyland you find out it was the amusement park robot gone haywire.

Well, I grew up in a really conservative area of Texas, so . . . wait.
