CancerAIDS is too good for @avclub-94d8526a5fae933806f65b8a0f49301a:disqus . Give him a full dose of TBA.

Well, I had an inkling that someone was going to die after catching a phrase along the lines of 'the spectre of death haunts the offices of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce" on this site towards the end of last season (Having also heard whispers about "that controversial Joan episode" I'd always pegged it as her). Plus

I can understand why someone might see it as one of those shows that could be in contention. At its peak I read articles on multiple sites saying it was in the upper echelons of TV shows ever made and I read more than one BSG or The Wire? debates.

Damn it, Nibbler. This is what you get for reading all the comments when you're still two episodes from the end of season 5.

Completely agree. In fact, back in my student days, we had a to write a piece breaking down the direction of a scene from a film and why it worked so well. I chose this scene specifically because I felt the direction is what sold the tension. Got 2,000 words out of it.

Completely agree. I love this film (and Shattered Glass) for their focus on the destruction of the people involved rather than how big the scandal was itself. The desperation of all involved and the acting in both pieces are huge reasons why both are so effective.

Didn't they already do a "What do Kickstarter projects owe their donors?" For Our Consideration about two weeks ago? Bet they wish they'd held off.

Yeah, yeah, @avclub-2604fa0a1df542f33fc9663187b38dde:disqus , we all saw the ad quote on the DVD cover.

Kim's storyline was good for one more moment - "Now shoot him *again*".
Proper father-daughter bonding.

I agree - starting the story in the middle of the day made it feel more immediate and having the final hours drenched in daylight (and a busy city) added to the tension. plus it really made it feel like one, long, tiring day for them, moreso than the 8am-8am seasons.

I thought Carmela's arc of drawing away from Tony - especially her "theft" of the money at the start of the season - was the strongest arc her character ever had, even if it was dressed up with the misguided Furio plotline. But each to their own.

Whoever Did This would be my pick for favourite episode ever. Well, depending on which day you asked me, there's a lot of competition.

My girlfriend has never seen 24 so we're watching it now and, on the whole, enjoying it. But we're skipping season 6. Just awful from the start. I know at the time a lot of people loved the opening four because of the shock of the bomb going off and Curtis being killed but a) we'd seen a nuke go off before - even if

I think the whole of the second half of season three is the strongest run of episodes the show has. Nina's death, the hotel plot, Chapelle (still the biggest gut punch the show has done for me which is a true testemant to how well they played the scene considering the character was a jerk), Stephen Saunders, the

Oh, isn't he the best?!

I'm going to assume every line finishes with "…sandwiches".

Yup - Steve Holt! finds out in season 2 and it's part of the early season 3 storyline.

A little but then we don't know how they'll figure. The special guests rosta for S.O.B.s seems high on paper but Braff, Stiller and Belzer only appear in one shot each.

This may give you 20% hope:

Both Scream 4 and American Reunion were better than their immediate predecessors though. Small credit where small credit's due.
