If pushed I'd probably agree. It was great to see him tested and pushed to extremes without buckling.

I've been looking forward to Fincher and Spacey doing this since it was first rumoured a few years ago. If Netflix wants to chuck a bunch of money at them to do it then that's fine with me. It's not like HBO and Showtime didn't have a chance to pick it up.

It's not your fault. You suffer from that OC Disorder.

That wasn't an assignment that M threw at him at the end. It was a written warning.

Fair point. In my defence it was related to what's been discussed and, to be honest, the "spoiler" about his masterplan is one made clear in the adverts and synopses of the film (this review pretty much covers it with "embittered ex-agent") and the spoiler flags were there just in case people considered it a spoiler.…

You should watch Goldfinger again. It's the classic one but Bond fails constantly in that film - getting captured over and over again, getting not one but two women killed, never managing to save the day (Pussy's switching of the gas in the planes saves the lives of the soldiers and Bond doesn't even get to stop the…

Yup, there was no "Rolex?" "Omega." "Beautiful." moment which I was very grateful for.

As for the DB5 - yes, I'm with you on the theory that it's not supposed to literally be the same car as the one from Goldfinger. Just that he's fitted his Casino Royale one with some old-school gadgets for a bit of fun (and obviously for a 50th anniversary treat for us).

Good point about OHMSS. I only watched that the other day as well. That scene - and the clips of the old films in the opening credits - serves no other purpose than to tell the audience at the time that this is the same James Bond. Of course this was long before the swapping of Bonds became a tradition and so long…

Or it could be a genuine inquiry as to how closely this installment carries over the events of those two films, especially as most reviews mention about this film concerning Bond's past. Besides, after QoS, it shouldn't be taken for granted that each Bond film is completely standalone.
