I liked the last ten minutes, especially when I first watched it. The fact it took such a bizarre, out of left field turn and carried on left me not knowing what else to expect and made those scenes a lot more tense as a result. It really felt like they'd do anything and kill anyone.

I agree about the second having more scary moments - the post-car crash scene was great and SPOILERS I SUPPOSE death of Randy were fantastic. The opening scene in the cinema was nice and horrible too.

The trouble is with Kingdom of Heaven and other such films - Daredevil, Troy, Payback, Sucker Punch, etc - is that I already gave them a chance and they were rubbish. I appreciate the fact that they might very well be improved with the alternate versions but I've already invested hours of my life into watching them…
