My theory is that a big part of this season is building up Billy's inherent heroism, which is why St. Cloud has become an increasingly important part of the show. It lets Billy out from under Rusty's shadow to show that he is one of the few actually good people on the show.

Venturestein was pretty good at being a leader, Hank was great a Jungle Batman, even Dean was able to fix helper without any problems (that we saw). I wonder if this season is setting up a theme of Rusty's children succeeding where he failed?

That's a solid point. But does make the whole thing seem super-forced. It would have been great if the only characters the Inquisitor interacted with were aliens. "I am really Jack the Ripper." "Oh, is that like a tailor or something?"

I actually like the idea that the Vorlons have been plucking
significant people throughout history to store as agents. But the choice of
Jack the Ripper just seems leaden and forced. He was a serial killer he become
really famous because of the media, we don't really know much about his agenda
and portraying him as a

I became a believer during Ghosts of the Sargasso Sea, the ghost pirate captain's reaction to Brock's killing spree is one of the most sublime jokes I have ever seen on TV:

Lamar, Hooper, and Fran is one of my favorite moments from the early episodes of the The Shield. It conveys one of the best themes of the show, that crime is mostly just about damaged, often stupid people unwilling to step away from an obviously disastrous course of action.

For me the show really clicked when Dutch breaks down in his car after outwitting the serial killer. It made me realize that The Shield wasn't just going to be THE MOST EXXXTREME! COP SHOW EVER! like the advertising seemed to be claiming but that it would focus heavily on consequences,

Yeah, Clockers and Get on the Bus are two favorite Spike movies. Clockers is kind of neat as a sort of clumsy proto-version of the The Wire.

I love Bamboozled and its one of the rare movies where I have actually seen someone change their politics after watching it.

I haven't seen Lovely Molly but will definitely give it a chance when I get a free moment.

I haven't seen Seventh Moon yet, but I liked Believers . Its very much one of those "how tense of a movie can make while spending almost no money movies" but I thought it did pretty well with its budget.

The sad thing is that I think Sanchez and Myrick's post Blair Witch work has been pretty good. Altered, in particular is a pretty tight little low-budget horror film.

I am little surprised that Men with Guns didn't get a mention along with Sayles other 90's work.

I totally agree. To be clear I was a Friends hater, but now I mostly find it to be a light comedy show that just isn't for me. But can still sell the hell out of a punchline.
