Speaking of Billy Joel and harmonicas on the same page, I need to go listen to "Leave a Tender Moment Alone" again. Toots Thielmann is awesome.

Another favorite chord progression: the "doo-wop" progression, often written as C-A minor-F-G7. It even got a song in "Grease" devoted to it (which was callously tossed aside for the movie except as background music).

I looked it up—they're in Essential Avengers Vol. 8. I'll probably check it out eventually. I'm a reviewer for Collected Editions and I already had to put my Infinity Gauntlet review on hold while I was waiting for "Rebirth of Thanos" to come out in softcover.

I just read the book last night, and you're spot on—Starlin and Lim are AMAZING. Can't wait to restart Infinity Gauntlet. My one quibble is that "Rebirth of Thanos" doesn't explain where Warlock, Gamora and Pip are coming from when they get resurrected, but I'm not invested in Warlock enough to track that down and

It sounds like a proto-Walking Tall. Neat.

I'll gladly say that I preferred Venom-Gorilla vs. an entire herd of Carnage-infested zoo animals over League 2009. (Seriously, read Carnage USA, it's awesome.)

The songs in League 1910 can work because they're sung to the tune of music from "The Threepenny Opera". I tried reading while playing the song in question, and it does work; it's just a bit cumbersome, like trying to read a complex video game code from a book while shooting.

V2's text almanac is fun if you read along with Jess Nevins' annotations. At one point, he describes it as Moore's attempt to kill him.

Yeah, I should've been more clear. League V1, V2 and Century 1910 are all great. It's Black Dossier and beyond where you lose me.
