'fanny' was the other one that sprung to mind. hilarious when you are a kid. i remember when 'fanny-packs' came out - hours of fun (we call(ed) them 'bum-bags' - also hilarious)

there's a misogynistic lasciviousness to 'panties'. in the UK, it's pretty much just 'underwear' or 'pants' regardless of whether they are male or female. of course, for some unfathomable reason, you guys use 'pants' instead of 'trousers'.

i agree. 'panties' is a horrible word.

pretty much every other ep involves someone arriving in town. the Adam stuff is great. i love when he is chef in the Brick.

S02E05 of Northern Exposure - Spring Break

it's been 20 years and i'm still a little bit in love with Lynda Day.

the other being the Massacre of Glencoe which occured in 1692. even today there are MacDonalds who distrust Campbells.

the first series is excellent, the 2nd and 3rd not so much. but you're right, Sarah Lund is one of the great characters and TV detectives.

compared to American soaps, it is brilliant drama. besides, the amount of episodes they churn out, it's a testament to the the actors that Eastenders is as good as it is.

YES I AAAAAAAAAM!!

but the Blackfish lives!? Robb's baby is more of a threat than the Blackfish!? or did they just want him alive and so had him step out for a pee?

your right, the death of Robb does make sense from Tywin's perspective (and indeed Frey's). Cat and Talisa didn't really need to die though.

i didn't realise that Talisa's (Jeyne?) death wasn't in the books, but even so, it's the show (and specifically the ending of this ep) that i'm criticising. Talisa not being there would have mitigated matters - i ust felt it was over the top.

make me.

i also understand that Talisa'a character was not killed this way in the books, so i apologise for attributing it to GRRM, it's obviously a decision made by the TV show.

no that's not what i mean. i'm more than capable of stating my opinion without the need for misconstrued interpretation.

@avclub-c1fe85b855c6d045b827f74a1e2c3fd7:disqus if Talisa did not die in this manner in the books, then it's the TV writers and execs who have, in my opinion, taken things a bit far.

i'm not saying it was illogical.
