The real death came a few years later when alternative rock stations were permeated by rap metal and bottom-grade punk.

Common People is by far their best song although Different Class is full of lots of other great tracks (Something's Changed, Disco 2000, FEELINGCALLEDLOVE in particular). I bet the band didn't take off in the US because they sounded too "British?"
(you could say the same about Blur being too "British" and why they

Rap metal, fart rock and alt rap really killed alternative rock more than anything. While there was still good stuff here and there, it was definitely a time when indie rock was to blossom if only because it didn't seem to be impacted by all that junk or radio pressure.

The Pumpkins indeed have made plenty of great music over the years, even with Billy being the only one left. I honestly think Oceania is a great album. The big problem is that the guy is so full of himself that he can't keep his bandmates or others he works with from getting pissed off and quitting on it so fast.

Actually, that Local H album is called As Good As Dead. And the band is touring to promote its 20th anniversary (the original drummer is joining the current one for it).

I was in the eighth grade in 1996. Needless to say, junior high and high school were tough times for me as it was tough for me to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and because I was under such a huge shadow. I was slight above average when compared to the rest of my class while my older brother had a 4.5 GPA

I'd chalk it up to how the story is interesting and you kind of wonder where it's going to head into next. It's not repetitive, filled with unrealistic dialogue or featuring characters people have extreme biases against.

The Grimace would be more interesting in terms of his struggles to be a good guy and also his ongoing phantom limb issues.

The comic didn't show the original Hamburglar; they replaced him with a "hunk" Hamburglar a while ago. He doesn't look anything like what a real-life hamburger burglar would look like.

The North Carolina candle has scents of blackberries and vinegar BBQ sauce. That's actually appropriate. So is Maryland's saltwater and Old Bay.

I would have also accepted swimming pool.

The internet is, for lack of a better word, unemployable.

She's so dumb, she mistook the fountain at the shopping mall for a ______.

This version is better.

You'd have to be as dumb as Dumb Dora to not like the new Match Game.

I really like the idea of a movie based on the novel. It's kind of surprising no one has adapted it yet.

I enjoy stuff that is detailed and complex but at the same time it is also tough to bring in new fans after a while. There's got to be a balance between the two but it's so damn hard to find.

I totally agree with you on that. The buzz for each new Hunger Games movie wasn't as big as the buzz for the one before that. Maybe it's because there were so many people who dropped out as the series went along. The series still made a good deal of money but it's a sign of how dangerous the homework effect can be.

Is it just me or does the original USA Freedom Kids song sound like a North Korean pop song?

Garbage's #1 Crush immediately reminds me of that movie too.
