It was pleasant to watch, like comfort food. The weakest parts of any of the WHAS scripts were when the villainous threats were actually being carried out, and this was no exception. The lead-character interactions were fun and the lampshading they asided was good too.

Traditionally, the problem has been that they've carried the weight of responsibility — they couldn't be throwaway films but felt honor-bound to include a morality/family/loyalty arc. It's only been in the last few years that scripts have left this stuff out and the genre has loosened up a little.

Given that originally the Statue was a failed project by a Frenchman to sell to Egypt, based on his disapproving mother, constructed piecemeal, left in boxes for years, and eventually used in America through a weird public-private partnership, it's a pretty good representation of the Trump Administration.

I watched half a dozen episodes, but I felt uncomfortable seeing some of my favorite comedians in a setting when they weren't at their best. I think it was because the format suited lowbrow zingers and crowded out other kinds of jokes.
