Huh, not to speak ill of the dead but I thought he was just odd and distracting in that. I think it was more the prosthetic nose and how late in the film he appeared more than his performance though.

It does seem like there's been an unusual number of threequels the last couple of months doesn't it? This, Iron Man 3, The Hangover Part III, and Hatchet 3.I wonder if there's ever been so many part threes in a single year before… I guess that's what happens in this new age of trilogies and never ending sequels.

Yeah I was trying to think of what other titles they could use… all the possibilities seem redundant or out of character with the other titles. Before Twilight? Before Dawn? Before Afternoon Tea? Before 4 A.M.?

Yeah I missed the dream thing… I'm reserving judgment until actually seeing the episode now. If it's just one line in a dream or whatever, it's not even remotely a big deal, even as far as the area of Futurama casting news goes…. it could actually end up being a clever joke if played correctly.

To be fair, Dowd did complain about the same thing in his Star Trek review.

Yeah they do seem to have a weird vendetta against it don't they? I haven't seen it yet and doubt it's going to be anything to write home about, but Dowd and co. seem to devote a lot more space to being snarky about it than other lackluster blockbusters.

Have you seen Gatsby? I thought that was easily his best performance yet.

Because it's supposed to be a secret @avclub-f8f8c273f326be25421cc62737d24a9e:disqus : I'm guessing all they knew prior to signing up was that it involved the exploration of an alien planet and such, and they signed on just based on that. The rather sketchy, secretive nature of the mission could actually explain why

Wasn't that guy a geologist? It's been a while since I've seen the movie but I thought that was the "I love rocks!" guy.

There was no way Prometheus 2 could possibly be as bad as AVPR. That movie wasn't even a trainwreck, it was just boring and almost impossible to follow due to the terrible lighting.

No, but the last couple years have seen a large number of extremely obvious attempts to "top" that film's climax.

Funny @avclub-1b1f9a3e639ecc53f335314fc9d8403b:disqus , I've always found the young Ethan Hawke to be pretty insufferably douchey in all his roles, but find him much more tolerable and stronger as an actor nowadays. He was certainly at his most likable in Before Midnight.

After seeing this movie, you may not feel that way anymore…

It's kind of weird how apparently the climax of every summer blockbuster now is copying Transformers 3. Maybe we should rethink this strategy everyone… even in The Avengers the city destroying climax was the weakest part.

Ugh, don't remind me. I'd actually succeeded in wiping that from my memory till you mentioned it.

I think the Western kick already began and ended with The Lone Ranger. And it hasn't even been released yet!

Every film in the series is actually a reboot that retells Spiderman's origin story. We will be caught in a never ending Mobius strip, watching Uncle Ben die over and over again, and pony up for it every time.

Indeed: the worst thing about redoing season four would be having to see the Britta and Troy thing happen again. I definitely wouldn't mind a reboot of the Jeff's dad storyline though, but they could just recast the father and essentially start from scratch with that storyline without rebooting everything.

Just looked up Yost's credits due to your post, all I knew about him was that he created Justified and was a producer on The Americans. Apparently he was also behind Boomtown, which was a really interesting and excellent show, everyone should check that one out (or at least the first season… I never saw the quickly

I knew he would have a reaction like this… so much for the theories that he would have a level headed reaction since he'll still be working with some of the season 4 writers. I'm glad Harmon is coming back to Community, but making professional, non-reactionary statements is really not his forte, and I was surprised by
