Yes, Seyfried is by far the biggest star to come out of the show, and she's not exactly who you would expect either (though she did manage to make quite an impression for a dead character).

You should definitely catch the show, but Ritter's part really is not very noteworthy and her performance is pretty lackluster. I was really surprised she was a thing until I caught her episodes of Breaking Bad.
These guys have all been very impressive in a movie or two but in most of their roles are pretty forgettable and dull. DiCaprio is a lot more consistently reliable and can improve weak films with his performance, though he's also much better at choosing roles that play to his strengths.
See I don't get this complaint about DiCaprio at all: he seems to carry himself very differently in various roles, at least from 2003 or so onwards. JGL on the other hand always acts exactly the same in my opinion, which often leads to him acting like a smarmy dick in roles where he's meant to be a nice quiet type. I…
Honestly, what young(ish) Hollywood actor would be better? I think DiCaprio is a very good, though not great, actor but there really is a dearth of decent American actors in his age bracket. He definitely has a lot more range and classical acting skill than someone like Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Fassbender and Tom Hardy…
The Hunger Games was already one of the most calculated things I've ever read… every single aspect of that series seemed to be ripped from other, far superior books. I don't think I could deal with something that rips off of those books.
@Roswulf:disqus He wasn't the creator or showrunner of Heroes though, just a staff writer. He only wrote two episodes of season 1… you might just as well count his days for Star Trek shows. I'm actually that Hannibal is only thirteen episodes though, it allows for the show to basically knock it out the park every…
Yes University was pretty great. I didn't really care for the first two episodes of season 3, but it has been killing it since then. I'm looking forward to picking it back up.
Yeah if they were going to kill him, they would have just done it at the end of that last episode, instead of that really stupid cliffhanger. Honestly they probably should have just done that, even though Bill was once my favorite character. His development over the course of the last three seasons has been such an…
Supposedly Defiance is the best American sci-fi show on tv (there really isn't a lot from that genre on the air right now), but I've never seen it so can't personally say whether it's worth watching.
The last one I watched was "University" in the middle of season 3: I haven't watched for a while because I've been busy lately with work, shows currently airing, keeping up with TV Club Classic coverage, and reading more. I've also been watching Deadwood since I put requests on those seasons when my library ordered…
It's easy to resolve, all the Fuller shows just take place in alternate realities in which the various characters live fairly similar lives that sometimes diverge in major ways.
True @avclub-0ae7484a9f3bbd2a21df420050c032ae:disqus , it seemed like Todd could do some coverage that did the show justice, but then again he already writes up a ton of shows on here and he often has difficulty discussing and evaluating humor on shows. Maybe Les could tackle it after Wonderfalls?
It seemed like pretty much anyone who gave TDKR a bad review got slammed by commenters those few days before it was released. I'm pretty sure people would have been livid around here if it had received a less than glowing review.
Don't listen @sarapen:disqus , season five was awful, possibly even worse than four. It totally squandered Christopher Meloni and Russell, and the annoying characters they killed off didn't even begin to clear house, because there are so many stupid and extraneous characters on the show now. The Djinn storyline went…
Why not just add the word "Blood" to the end of all their shows? It makes all of them sound better: The Newsroom Blood, Girls Blood, Game of Thrones of Blood. See?
This is when I'll really get tested: after last year's incredibly frustrating season of True Blood I promised myself that I'd drop this horrible show, which I hadn't even enjoyed since the midpoint of season three. With only ten episodes in the season and a lack of show options during the summer I might be tempted to…
Don't think I can disagree here, though I've yet to see Rectify or Boardwalk Empire. Only thing I'd disagree on is that while I really love both Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen on Hannibal, I think I'd have to give the edge to Mads (unless you're counting him as a supporting actor, I think they're really co-leads). So I'd…
I'm guessing Will figures out Hannibal is the copycat, but then has a mental break and finds out about his health condition. He'll spend next season trying to recover (probably institutionalized), while Hannibal works to mold his mind and convince him that he's innocent and everything Will thought he knew was just in…
It's been so long, I couldn't remember a lot of specific instances, but this video spells them out pretty well: http://www.vulture.com/2012…. Some of them are kind of a stretch, but it was mostly a lot of general, very heavy death foreshadowing, and people figured out who it was just from how Lane's storyline was…
