Definitely, you are going to LOVE the show if you're a big Hannibal fan.

It comes up when I search for it… I suspect it's an issue with your browser, not the website.

He was pretty good in Cosmopolis, and I didn't even like that movie much. He had the right look for the part though, and had a surprising knack for nailing the odd dialogue rythyms… he sounded a lot more naturalistic speaking it than most of the other actors.

I'm usually the last person to complain about, or even notice, product placement, but it was really, really distracting in that Smallville fight in Man of Steel. I'm particularly thinking of there being two or three separate scenes set in an IHOP (which was referred to by name several times) and that bit where Faora

@avclub-7f87bb91e1944c0485c54044a3d85c44:disqus Uh… no. I really don't give two shits about how a movie characterizes Superman… if it works for the movie, I'm not going to quibble with it. However, Man of Steel is one of the absolute worst summer films I've ever seen. The action was repetitive, dull, and lacking in

What doesn't bode well for the sequels: most of the people who gave performances that weren't awful probably won't be in them.

He can definitely do gravitas and darkness… see Michael Clayton for proof. Of course that was ten years after B&R, and his acting talent really increased immensely after he started working with Soderbergh and the Coen Bros.

@avclub-0ae1dd3954ee840075de1395771b6c9c:disqus Is The Avengers really that poorly suited for children? It seems more appropriate to me than at least 80% of superhero movies now, the violence is really very cartoony and there aren't a lot of scary parts or bad language that I can remember. Even the Iron Man movies had

Are comic books books? I mean they have the word "book" right there in the name. This kind of categorization makes no sense, "book" refers to any kind of thing printed on paper and bound up into a book, and absolutely includes novels, nonfiction, graphic novels, encyclopedias, books of maps, etc.

Weird, I seem to remember there being non stop ads for this a couple months before it came out. Maybe I was still watching Kids WB and they just advertised a lot there? Seems pretty likely.

I think we've got what, like six different accounts now? Cookie_Monster, the Bane version of Cookie Monster, AnotherCookieMonster, AnotherAnotherCookieMonster, YetAnotherCookieMonster, and now ZODIACCOOKIEMONSTER.

It actually is a kind of unique movie that's worth watching though. I haven't seen it for at least ten years and still remember the plot, characters, and several specific scenes which says something. It's a pretty interesting mess.

Oh it's definitely homophobic, that movie is far too stupid to be subversive in any way. I don't dislike it because it's homophobic though… that's really the most interesting thing about it. Aside from that it's just another sequel where the writers had no fucking clue what to do with the premise of the original

Apparently people will defend any old piece of shit movie… Freddy's Revenge is horribly dull and unremarkable whenever it's not being laughably over the top and ridiculously homophobic. It also tosses out the fun and interesting premise of the series just for another boring "possession by an evil spirit" storyline.

Is Conley also @avclub-388f10e830d984bb6600303c85dba86b:disqus ? That might make sense…

Well, more than an entire page of the comments has nothing whatsoever to do with the movie, so….

It seems like it would be a no brainer (pun definitely intended), but it hasn't been getting any love in critics award circles so probably not. I really don't understand why though, but I guess maybe it's too violent and genre-ish for voters. Hopefully they'll catch on sooner or later… I have a feeling I'm going to be

@avclub-f8665a36d5a911922da81a12443887ed:disqus Have you heard any of the dialogue for found footage movies? Most of it is atrocious. The constant chatter only worked for Blair Witch because it was pretty much entirely improvised.

Well… he's right though. That movie wasn't bad, but it was definitely Payne's weakest movie and didn't really work as well as it should have.
