That's what I was thinking: a series based on that universe could be amazing. Hopefully it will be less generic than the last few series from Abrams.

Seriously? If you think any narrative period piece film is even close to a historical document you're seriously deluded. The novel the movie is based on is already a very heightened depiction of the era.

There is a hilarious negative review of that on IMDB: a particularly love it for this paragraph:

Imagine how dated all these action movie trailers today are going to look in twenty years…

What? That movie should have been way more awesome than it was. And that's definitely an odd set of credits for Peter Buchman…

Didn't music video concepts in general stall out in the late nineties?

Hey, it's still preferable to watching the show.

You don't know much about this whole internet searching business do you?

Garfield and Knightley were great in that movie, but I thought Mulligan was awful. She turned Kathy into a drippy, self pitying bore of a character, and her performance basically consisted of her wandering around looking sad and making puppy dog eyes. I adored that book as well, I'd say it's one of my very favorite

I liked the show in the first season but the second was a dreary, unfunny slog, despite a few great episodes. Still worth watching but very easy to hate on.

I really never felt like the two halves of Looper held together: like so many scifi/action movies lately it felt like separate scripts awkwardly stitched together. It's a pretty good movie and probably my favorite of Rian Johnson's but I didn't really feel like it was one of the better movies of the year and find the

I agree, sometimes I feel like I've got the thread of her character (Neil Cross had the strongest understanding of her as a person), but most of the time she just seems kind of empty and bland. JLC was great as the previous iterations of Clara so I don't think it's her fault, but I'm not sure most of the writers have

I may be the one person actually excited for the child sidekicks. Gaiman writes child characters extremely well, which I'm guessing is why they're being included, and having new companions onboard the TARDIS always helps mix things up. Besides these kids seem pretty clever and resourceful from what little we've seen

I was not a big fan of this one. For me a strong Doctor Who episode has to either have: A. a fun and original plot, with a few twists and turns and a dash of timey wimeyness or B. some strong character developments that tell us more about the Doctor or his companions. I liked Rings of Akhaten and last week's better

So you're insulted on the behalf of the fictional people that died for him in this movie? That's kind of odd…

I saw, and thought it was a lot of fun and the best of the Iron Man movies. But what on earth are you talking about in your second paragraph? I can't even begin to think which scene you're talking about there… I guess the climactic action scene maybe? I don't get it.

You loved it so much and the reviewer didn't. Why is his C+ "ridiculous" and not your A+? He made a lot more detailed points about what he did and didn't like about the movie than you. And for the record, I did quite like this movie, I just think the reaction this review is getting is a bit crazy… I'd expect this from

@avclub-884c4beddd8c98bb3b016bdfcc1bcdf8:disqus Indeed, I was thinking coming out of the theater that Marvel has probably won the summer season before it's really started once again. Man of Steel or Pacific Rim could still manage to top it, but those both could go either way.

The Mandarin twist was surprisingly brilliant, and moreso the more I think about it. First off there's the promotion for the movie, with all the fanboys speculating about how the movie is going to portray the Mandarin. And then they totally get the rug pulled out from under them when Trevor shows up. And then there's
