Emma Stone and Jane Levy seriously look exactly the same. It's pretty freaky. If you showed that picture to me and asked which one it was, I would have just had to flip a coin or something.

Honestly, Woody Allen only makes a movie really worth seeing every 4-5 years these days. In the last ten years the only movies of note have been Match Point, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and Midnight in Paris, and that second one is the only one I particularly like of those three.

I once dreamed up a four part live action Big O movie series when I was a kid. I still say it could be done: people love their Batman and if this does well maybe there will be a surge in demand for mecha movies. I envision it as a Christopher Nolan-Wachowskis co-production.

Might as well go on and count After Earth as another misstep.

Damn, I complain because all my facebook friends think The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones are the. best. shows. EVER!!!!!!!… but it could be much, much worse.

Nope! This is the third F for this show, there was one for Glee, one for the premiere of "Cult", one for "Ready for Love"… I think that's it. Still, quite a few F's so far.

That's really weird and sad. Also why? I thought both movies were pretty profitable and are definitely very critically acclaimed. That seems really surprising to me.

As much as I like Hellboy, a movie set in 2004 that has Rasputin and Nazis as it's villains is a little bit dumb.

I really wish he would make more movies like The Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth. The Hellboy movies are excellent comic book films, but still not on the same level as what he's capable of, and it's a bit frustrating to see him pursue such mainstream and unchallenging projects when it's clear how great he can be

Uh, what about Mimic?

Wasn't "Blade Runner meets BSG" the pitch for the BSG reboot?

Seriously, wtf was with that opening? It had virtually zero impact on the movie and seemed beamed in from some completely different movie (maybe a sequel to Drag Me to Hell?). Who was that one guy who looked all burned, and what was with the woman speaking some foreign language? It was a really bizarre way to

Fuck Another Earth, that movie was absolutely terrible. It did absolutely nothing intriguing with a fantastic premise, and the only point at which it started to get interesting was about five seconds before the end of the movie.

Shouldn't a C be more like a 5/10? Yes, I know how grading percentages work, but when you're ranking a movie out of 10 it doesn't really make sense to say that 1-5 are appallingly bad (aka failing). I would consider a B or B- to be a seven.

@paraclete_pizza:disqus I wouldn't say visually boring, but it did really look like a videogame at times (and not in a good way). That may have been what Kosinki was going for but it ended up being nowhere near the strikingly beautiful and artful visuals of the original Tron. Oblivion, on the hand, is pure aesthetic

Hell, I'd say it's the second best Dick adaptation next to Blade Runner. Scanner Darkly should've been great, but the rotoscoping really didn't serve the story and Keanu Reeves was pretty poor casting. The movie should have been a brutal and uncompromising look at addiction, not a laid back animated hangout movie. And

I'm surprised you felt that way about Andrea Riseborough: I thought her acting was so much better than anyone else's in the film that she ended up being way more sympathetic than she was intended to. I'll admit that pool scene was pretty awkward, but that's more because of the terrible dialogue and Cruise's lack of

Funny how opinions seem to vary really widely on what the duds are this season. I would say that "A Town Called Mercy" and "Cold War" were the weakest episodes of the season for me so far (though "The Bells of St. John" was really disappointing as well). I'd say this season has been a lot more consistent than pretty

There's a lot less River this season but SPOILER she's going to show up in the finale, which means she'll have been in two episodes this season. While that's a lot fewer than last year, she did actually only appear in two stories in season 5 (though they were both two parters). I'm guessing if there were two parters

I feel like there have been a lot of episodes this season that "actually happened" which have had a lot less significance for the episodes to follow than this one. I don't really get the complaint here that because time reset the episode doesn't matter.
