Yeah I see very few truly bad movies in theaters (if I do it's usually because I like the director or something). Worst movies I saw this year were probably:

I freaking hated Meek's Cutoff: while it was certainly far better than Wendy and Lucy and had some nice photography and a cool, unusual setting, the whole thing just seemed totally flat and empty to me. There was no real story, or even characters: just a bunch of familiar character actors standing around in

She also mostly just sings in Buffy and has only one line in a shitty season seven episode…

Really? I snuck into Mirror, Mirror, mostly because of Tarsem, and had a hard time sitting through the whole thing. It seemed like something fine to put on for your kids but not really something I felt like watching from start to finish: the visuals weren't that cool, Lily Collins was awful,  and it was nowhere near

Sadly, that last sentence is really untrue: it seems like lately the Oscars never remember anything that wasn't released in the last quarter, or at least half of the year. It is super annoying how clumped together movies are though.

Did you people even see Lincoln? I don't understand how anything else isn't considered a dark horse for the race… I mean it was extremely Oscar baity, had a great ensemble and an incredible lead performance, and was actually very good! It's not my number 1 for the year, but it's definitely in my top 5, and I'd

That one just felt like a step backwards because it was a shot for shot remake of an earlier film, which is pretty much the worst thing he's done. I really don't find either of those films particularly characteristic of Haneke: his followup to it, The White Ribbon, was almost certainly my favorite film of his. I don't

No but I read the original when it was called "Tithonus" and was a mythological Greek story! Boom, roasted.

A lot of people seem to have already dismissed that film around here for reasons I really can't comprehend. That's really his most absorbing and emotionally compelling film for me, but a lot of people here seem to think stuff like Code Unknown and The Piano Teacher is better… which baffles me but whatever. I feel like

@ShrikeTheAvatar:disqus Well I think part of the problem though is the shots were really composed for a movie theater screen, not a tv, and the size of your screen and the quality of the DVD you're watching on can affect those things as well. I thought Cache was one of the more accessible arthouse films in recent

I think it should be obvious to everyone by now that no show has ever "broken" Todd: he just lets down his (barely functional) facade of sanity every now and then to write stuff like this.
