I think it should be obvious to everyone by now that no show has ever "broken" Todd: he just lets down his (barely functional) facade of sanity every now and then to write stuff like this.

I'd say those are more episodically paced seasons than standalones: there are a lot of story arcs and serialization going on there, especially in the second half. Episodes of Angel season 5 are certainly not standalone in the same way that say, NCIS is. There are still plenty of good shows that are episodically paced:

Seriously, they couldn't bother to do a little more than just make it look like the color on your television is off? Nothing shot in B&W would look like that screenshot above… Film grain would be gimmicky but would at least be something.

Agreed, that movie was brilliant. My favorite comedy in years, maybe of the entire 2000s.

Yeah I thought that episode was a relative standout of the season, though I am a pretty serious S6 detractor. I thought it was quite clever and funny outside of the last ten minutes or so, which went way too broad and over the top: partly just because the humor was a wellm best of Dra air after the mopiness of much

@Scrawler2:disqus I agree, that's actually a pretty great summation of what the Lost finale is saying: there's a lot more depth there than most people give it credit for. To me the show is really an illustration of how disillusioned and abandoned many Americans felt by the way authorities handled 9/11, the Iraq war,

Part of the problem with this movie is that everything it's even trying to do has been done much better in the past. It really comes of as "The Double Life of Veronique" + "Melancholia" with a little bit of another Kieslowski film, "Blue" but it doesn't manage to be nearly as profound or emotionally gripping as those

That scene with Michael becoming "the new Omar" was so ridiculous and forced. It kind of ruined his whole storyline for me because in retrospect it was just there to show one person replacing the role of the next in a pretty absurd fashion. I really just did not believe in that development and I hate those kinds of

I just finished that show for the first time. I admit it was a great show but really was not my thing: I found the majority of it to be kind of dull. Seasons 3 and 4 were pretty fantastic though. I felt like the 5th season was highly unnecessary and fairly pointless in the end though: it felt less like an ending than

I have yet to see Frankenweenie, but I will be very, very surprised if it is better than Paranorman, Brave, or Wreck It Ralph. Tim Burton used to be my favorite director but I've become completely disillusioned by his output at this point.

Why is Amour apparently not a foreign film according to the list? That seems kind of odd.
