Too bad. I loved Dahl's dark sense of humor, especially in books like Revolting Rhymes & The Enormous Crocodile.

Yeah, the best part about a Dahl book was usually the dark sense of humor. I'm guessing that's gone here.

I'll admit I chuckled a couple times in this trailer. I also rolled my eyes quite a number of times, so I don't have a read on this yet.

Agreed. This is definitely one I'm going to have to see in theaters, preferably under some sort of influence.

Oh, good point. I forgot about the pesky "prison" setting of the show.

I do have to wonder what's going to happen next season. I will say they made a point to show us Linda (a character we know carries a gun) is still in prison during the riots.

I understand that, but I'm hoping this has some Spielberg-ian magic to it.

It is for me. Roald Dahl was my favorite author as a kid, and this book was my favorite of his, so I'm definitely going to see this, middling reviews be damned.

I'd be more pleased with myself if I was annoyed at the (admittedly-arbitrary) grades.

"Oh, that makes much more sense. Everyone knew but me."

Not going to finish reading that because I just started The Thick of It, but I will say I'm really enjoying The Thick of It.

I suspect a time jump to the next election.

As someone who knows the ins-and-outs of shitty comedies too well, that's much, much worse.

I know. Can't wait for it to get a B+ and A-.

I just finally took a breath.

I mean, he directed White Chicks.

I don't know if this is his best overall album (I really love The Blueprint) but lyrically he's never come close to as good as he was on this album (to be fair, few rappers have.)

Speaking of Breaking Bad, did anyone see Todd Vanderwerff call OITNB season 4 one of the best seasons of TV of the 2010's, ahead of any season of BB even?

Turns out it was this week. Give it time, The A.V. Club will become a place to find reposted internet clips that also reviews like 5 or 6 shows.

I liked this episode. Ok, so maybe I don't have much to say about it, but I feel like it's my duty to comment, seeing that show coverage around here is dropping like flies.
