Enh, I felt it was somewhat proportional with Robin flirting with a guy while then-boyfriend Ted is 20 feet away and then keeping him in mind for years.

Well I like Better With You, so apparently a lot of us are into at least one of these shows.

Isaac and the Hydrant
I don't go with you the whole way on your reading of Isaac's behavior at the fire hydrant being discontinuous with his flashback. We're introduced to the scene with him happily watching the children play and fondly recalling his own youth. But the law is the law, and it's his job to enforce it

Agreed
Spot on. Only have made it through the first two seasons, but I love the proto-serialization. I also enjoy how much story is packed into some episodes. And you can't even begin to describe how very strange many episodes are. And let's not forget the lesbian undertones!

Carrie, you're 100% right, he is narrating, and now I totally agree that he's not the killer, and that he definitely thinks Melissa is. I'm inclined to go with you on him being mistaken as well. Dammit, I really wanted at least one mystery resolved this season. At least it's only 4 months from coming back.

Holding Pattern
I think this show keeps hitting the Bs because they're trying to keep attracting new viewers. While still tying in the masterplot, every episode has Wysocki and Colvin dealing with a case-of-the-week while pursuing Gibbons, who is doing sketchy things, usually related to the case. Some combination of

Selena Gomez has been at the top of my list for longer than she has been legally eligible for it. Dianna Agron is making a strong push, however.

Read for the first time a couple years ago
It drove me crazy how the entire plot resolved through chance. The good guys didn't accomplish anything to make things happen, they just did a bunch of stuff til "God" saved the day.

Behind the camera
I think that the absolute best development the AV Club has brought to television criticism is the notice of the people behind the camera who make quality happen. They can be even more important than actors you like, but this is the site that made me realize that.

The more Ms. Agron the better.

All your examples are far superior to my own.

Most famous? I'm surprised that doesn't go to Ender's Game, or maybe Dune. I'm 25 though, what do I know.

Extreme, I forgot to mention that link, but did not fail to enjoy it EVERY SECOND SHE WAS ON SCREEN. I said "Harriet Jones, Prime Minister" in my head every time she showed up.

Everyone on this looked familiar! And yet there's a shocking lack of crossover with Doctor Who, my other British exposure.

They weren't substantially different. The British version aired in (excluding commercials) 2 60 minute episodes and 5 45 minute episodes. That's 345 minutes, which is less than the 360 minutes available on the PBS schedule. I did hear from one source that about 10 minutes had been cut, however.

She was also having a "menopausal burst of fertility," which may or may not be a real thing, but the doctor claims to be the case here. So it makes sense that a pregnancy under those circumstances would already be tenuously hanging on.

I don't even know how one would tell the difference between "Fauxlivia" and "Folivia," aurally.

Best I got
Doubt anyone would find it gross, but maybe no one else tried microwaving slices of salami.

Don't undervalue the whiff of diversity an older couple brings. Also, good jokes are good jokes, especially when delivered by pros.

Better With You
Well, Better With You is actually pretty funny with some pretty good comic actors. Perfect Couples was a pile of shit. So I look at it less as a negative trend and more as Perfect Couples being a pile of shit.
